Summer Camp 2006

This years Summer Camp was a joint camp between the Cubs and Sea Scouts and was held at Barnswood Scout Site near Leek in Staffordshire.

The site has several pitches available from which we chose North Rudyard and South Rudyard.

The Cubs went out first just for the weekend and for the whole time they were there, a pirate theme was given to the camp. The Sea Scouts followed on and spent a whole week.

The programme for the week was essentially split in two between the junior and senior members of the troop, with each doing alternate activities. The actual activities consisted of a mix of water based and traditional Scouting activities. This way, the Scouts were able to complete as many badges as possible.

The water activities were held on Rudyard Lake, a short drive down the road. By taking 'Fearless' and our two Walker Bays, all multi-purpose boats, they were able to be configured for any task required.
